Anderson names Knights line up

England Knights coach Paul Anderson has named his seventeen for the team’s first match against Papua New Guinea on Saturday.

Salford’s Niall Evalds has been handed the full-back berth, fighting off competition from Jack Walker following Jamie Shaul’s departure from the squad. Walker’s Rhinos team mate Liam Sutcliffe has been named in the centres alongside beaten Super League Grand Finalist Toby King in the centres inside Toms Davies and Lineham of Wigan and Warrington respectively. Late call-up Declan Patton is set to partner Chris Atkin in the halves, marking an impressive end to the Hull KR pivot’s maiden Super League season.

In the pack, captain Jack Hughes is another member of the Warrington team in the line up along with three backs and Joe Philbin on the bench. The front row is comprised of vice-captain Robbie Mulhern and Saints’ Matty Lees either side of Sam Powell, the Wigan Warriors man set to start at hooker. Hughes is joined in the back row by Castleford’s Oliver Holmes who appeared for the full England team against France last week while Hull FC’s Dean Hadley starts at loose forward.

Hadley’s Humberside teammate Brad Fash takes one of the interchange berths alongside Philbin, Huddersfield’s Kruise Leeming and Wakefield Trinity forward James Batchelor.

The RFL are hoping to stream the match via the OuRLeague platform but that depends on the quality of technology at the stadium in Lae.

A huge rugby league fan, Joe is from York and has followed both the Knights and Leeds Rhinos. The down to earth nature of the sport and it's players diverted his attention away from football and, now, is pursuing a writing career in the greatest sport in the world.

Get 'em Onside is that vessel. Since starting in October 2017, the site has accrued in excess of 400,000 views, nearing a million impressions and almost a thousand followers on the facebook, twitter and instagram platforms. Not bad for something that was only started to kill a bit of time!
