If reports are to be believed, Wigan Warriors will soon be without either of their Tomkins brothers as Joel looks set to head through the exit door.
After being suspended following the emergence of a video showing the forward demonstrating unacceptable conduct while in a Wigan bar recently, there have been rumours surrounding his future at the club. Hull KR are now, reportedly, on the cusp of signing the former rugby union star on an immediate deal until the end of next season.
The 31-year-old academy graduate hasn’t been at his best this season but has, in the past, showcased his ability with over 200 appearances in two spells for the club. Perhaps a move to East Yorkshire could see the dual-code international rediscover his best form and ability in Super League. Any move would no doubt delight Robins boss Tim Sheens who, with his team in the lower rungs of the competition, will be eager to recruit top quality talent as the club aim to reach the top eight and, if worst comes to worst, relegation.
His brother Sam has already penned a deal to move to Perpignan-based Catalans Dragons from 2019.
